The Writing Lab – workshop pre žiakov 5. ročníka
The Writing Lab priniesol jedinečný workshop pre žiakov 5. ročníka, ktorý bol zameraný na rozvoj písomných zručností v anglickom jazyku. Program prepájal tvorivé myslenie s akademickou presnosťou a ponúkol žiakom priestor objavovať vlastný štýl, rozvíjať fantáziu a zároveň si budovať pevné základy systematického písania.
Prvú časť workshopu viedla Michel Van Wyk a bola venovaná tvorivému písaniu. Žiaci sa zamerali na rozvoj kreativity, prácu s predstavivosťou a hľadanie vlastného hlasu v texte. Učili sa vytvárať plynulé, jasné a zaujímavé príbehy či opisy a efektívne vyjadrovať svoje myšlienky v písomnej forme.
Druhý blok pod vedením Zuzana Vojtekova sa sústreďoval na akademické písanie. Na začiatku týždňa sme si spoločne pozreli alarmujúci dokument o stave našej planéty a v nasledujúcich dňoch sme pracovali s témou a terminológiou udržateľnosti. Žiaci si precvičovali prekladové zručnosti, učili sa správne formulovať tematické vety a logicky štruktúrovať svoje argumenty. Dôraz sa kládol na jasnosť vyjadrovania, prácu s textom a jeho analýzu.
Workshop The Writing Lab ponúkol žiakom príležitosť rozvíjať sa komplexne – od tvorivého myslenia až po precízne akademické vyjadrovanie – s cieľom podporiť ich sebavedomie v písomnom prejave v angličtine.
The Writing Lab – Workshop for 5th-Grade Students
The Writing Lab delivered a unique workshop for 5th-grade students focused on developing writing skills in the English language. The program combined creative thinking with academic precision and offered students the opportunity to discover their own writing style, develop their imagination, and build strong foundations for systematic writing.
The first part of the workshop was led by Michel Van Wyk and was dedicated to creative writing. Students focused on developing creativity, working with imagination, and finding their own voice in writing. They learned how to create fluent, clear, and engaging stories and descriptions, and how to express their ideas effectively in written form.
The second block, led by Zuzana Vojtekova, focused on academic writing. At the beginning of the week we watched an alarming documentary about the condition of our planet Earth. Later on we worked with the topic and terminology of sustainability. Students practiced translation skills, learned how to formulate topic sentences correctly, and how to structure their arguments logically. Emphasis was placed on clarity of expression, working with texts, and text analysis.
The Writing Lab workshop provided students with the opportunity to develop comprehensively – from creative thinking to precise academic expression – with the aim of strengthening their confidence in written English.
