Dear Students, Respected Parents, and Colleagues,
Today, we gather at the beginning of a new school year – a year that is for all of us a new opportunity to grow, learn, and create together the community of our school.
In the Gospel according to Luke 2:52, we read:
“And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.”
These words show us the natural path of growth: not only physical, but also spiritual and relational. To learn wisdom, to grow in personality, and to build good relationships – this is the path that Christ Himself gives us as an example.
We, as a school, also want to move forward in this school year with two clearly defined goals:
First Goal – Building an Active and Functioning Community
We want to create a safe and supportive environment.
A school is not just a building, but a living community of people. Each of us – teachers, students, parents – is an active part. It is not enough to be a mere observer; we need to be co-creators of an atmosphere of trust, support, and mutual respect. Each of us contributes through our behavior, our words, and our attitudes. Only then can we create an environment where everyone feels safe and accepted.
Second Goal – I Don’t Have to Be an Expert, But I Am a Competent Outsider
We want to develop critical thinking and encourage responsible attitudes.
None of us needs to be an expert in everything. Yet each of us can be a wise and competent layperson – a person who can think, evaluate information, and engage in cultivated discussion. We want our students not only to gain knowledge, but also to develop the ability to use it, to sort it, and to connect it with life. This is the foundation not only of education, but also of wisdom, which is so precious in today’s world.
Dear students, parents, and colleagues,
May the words of the Gospel accompany us throughout this school year: that we may grow in wisdom, in humanity, and be pleasing not only to God but also to the people around us. May this year be for all of us a journey of shared growth, joy, and trust.
I wish you a blessed and successful new school year!
