V čase od 23. do 29. september 2024, som sa vďaka programu Teachers Development Program Slovakia zúčastnila vzdelávacieho kurzu pre učiteľov. V rámci môjho projektu mám za úlohu, nielen niečo nové sa naučiť, ale hlavne to využívať v praxi a podeliť sa s mojimi skúsenosťami a vedomosťami. Preto na stránke EGT založíme BLOG, na ktorom sprostredkujem všetky moje vedomosti a skúsenosti. Postupne sa budem venovať rôznym aspektom AI a podelím sa aj o svoje skúsenosti z praxe.
Musím podotknúť, že moja skúsenosť a kvalifikácia v danej oblasti nie je veľká. Nástroje som doteraz využívala skôr intuitívne a viac menej na podnet svojich dcér. Kurz mi však otvoril široké dvere k poznaniu. Mala som možnosť nahliadnuť k príležitostiam, ale aj rizikám, ktoré s touto problematikou súvisia. Mám nejakú predstavu čo a kde vieme implementovať a v tomto školskom roku sa chcem učiť jednotlivé nástroje aj vhodne využívať.
Školenie trvalo 6 dní a my sme sa na pracovných stretnutiach (5 hodín denne) venovali rôznym témam ako napríklad história a vývoj AI, úloha učiteľov vo vzdelávacích systémoch v dnešnom svete, platformy pomáhajúce učiteľom s administráciou v školstve, platformy, ktoré nám vedia pomôcť s prípravou vzdelávacích nástrojov, podávaním spätnej väzby, kontrolou, personifikácia vzdelávania a iné.
Začínali sme v pondelok popoludní. Na moje prekvapenie to bol daždivý deň a ja som sa autobusom presúvala z hotela do budovy, kde mal prebiehať kurz o umelej inteligencii pre učiteľov, ktorý organizovala Teachers Academy, ktorá funguje pod záštitou projektu Erasmus. Teň deň pršalo celý čas, čo nie je až takým zvykom na Malte. Napriek dažďu bolo pomerne teplo a mne trvalo asi 10 minút, kým som sa dostala z autobusovej zastávky na miesto nášho školenia, kam som prišla takmer úplne premočená. Keď som vošla, v hale sedelo niekoľko debatujúcich učiteľov a mňa prekvapil závan mrazivej klimatizácie. Náš školiteľ Nikolaus Conrad s úsmevom na tvári pripravoval kávu pre niektorých z nich a hneď vo dverách sa ma opýtal, či chcem espresso alebo kapučíno. Takýto začiatok pracovného dňa si želáme asi všetci. Povedal nám, že máme pár minút na to, aby sme v kľude začali .
Stretli sme sa tam samé učiteľky, v počte 13 (žiadny muž, okrem školiteľa!!!), z rôznych krajín. Bolo tam pár učiteliek z Nemecka, Švédska, Francúzska, Holandska a dokonca som tam stretla 1 kolegyňu z Košíc. Asi polovica účastníčok boli začínajúce učiteľky, čo ma potešilo. Uvedomila som si fakt, že u nás na Slovensku tých mladých kolegýň a kolegov až tak veľa nie je. A potrebujeme ich. Ostatné dámy boli tak ako ja, pracujúce učiteľky s praxou nad 15 a viac rokov. Skvelá kombinácia.
Prvý deň sa niesol skôr v duchu zoznamovania sa a predstavovania. Školiteľ nás previedol bodovou Messina Palace, ktorá bola v minulosti sídlom hlavného admirála Malty. Dnes je to priestor, kde svoje sídlo našiel Goethe inštitút či priestor pre Erasmus projekty organizované Teachers Academy.
Prvé pracovné stretnutie sme využili na to, aby sa každá z nás predstavila, informovala o sebe skupinu – čo robí, kde pracuje, a prečo sa prihlásila do tohoto vzdelávania.
Nasledujúce hodiny už boli venované úvodu k problematike umelej inteligencii. Lektor nás informoval o tom, čo vlastne umelá inteligencia je, porozprával o stručnej histórii jej vývoja. Upozornil nás, že jej história začala v čase 2 svetovej vojny s objavením prístroja ENIGMA, rozprával o strojovom učení, ale aj o veľkých jazykových modeloch, ktoré ľudia využívajú posledné 2- 3 roky. Dozvedeli sme sa o množstve platforiem a aplikácií, ktoré sú dnes vyvíjané už za špecifickým účelom a pre špecifickú skupinu klientov/koncových užívateľov. Prezentáciu ukončil už viac menej jednoduchými tipmi vo formáte: “TOTO ROBTE, TOTO NEROBTE”
Jednotlivým témam sa budem venovať v nasledujúcich týždňoch a na svojom blogu budem zdieľať konkrétne informácie, ale aj skúsenosti s AI na našej škole. Mojím plánom je aj vytvoriť pracovnú skupinu učiteľov, ale aj žiakov, ktorá sa bude stretávať a ktorá vytvorí priestor pre zdieľanie príkladov dobrej, ale aj zlej praxe. Držte nám palce. Začíname:)

Artificial intelligence for education - exploring the boundaries of information and communication technologies
Between September 23 and 29, 2024, thanks to the Teachers Development Program in Slovakia, I took part in an educational course for teachers. As part of my project, my task is not only to learn something new but mainly to use it in practice and to share my experience and knowledge. That is why we will start a BLOG on the EGT website, where I will share all my knowledge and experience. I will gradually address various aspects of AI and share my practical experience.
I must point out that my experience and qualifications in the given area are not great. Until now, I used the tools rather intuitively and more or less at the suggestion of my daughters. However, the course opened a wide door to knowledge for me. I had the opportunity to look into the opportunities, but also the risks, which are related to this issue. I know what and where we can use it, and this school year I want to learn how to use individual tools appropriately.
The training lasted 6 days and we covered various topics in working meetings (5 hours a day) such as the history and development of AI, the role of teachers in educational systems in today's world, platforms helping teachers with administration in education, platforms that can help us with preparation educational tools, providing feedback, control, personification of education and others.
We started on Monday afternoon. To my surprise, it was a rainy day. I was moving by bus from the hotel to the building where the artificial intelligence course for teachers organized by the Teachers Academy, which operates under the auspices of the Erasmus project, was to take place. It rained all the time that day, which is not so common in Malta. Despite the rain, it was relatively warm and it took me about 10 minutes to get from the bus stop to the place of our training, where I arrived almost completely soaked. When I entered, several teachers were sitting in the hall debating, and I was surprised by a whiff of the cold air conditioning. Our trainer Nikolaus Conrad was preparing coffee for some of them with a smile, and right at the door, he asked me if I wanted an espresso or a cappuccino. We probably all wish for such a start to the working day. He told us that we had a few minutes to start quietly.
Altogether we were about 13 female teachers (no man, except the trainer!!!) from different countries. There were a couple of teachers from Germany, Sweden, France, and the Netherlands, and I even met a colleague from Košice. About half of the participants were novice teachers, which pleased me. I realized the fact, that there are not so many of those young colleagues in Slovakia. And we need them. The other ladies were like me, working teachers with more than 15 years of experience. A great combination.
The first day was spent more in the spirit of getting to know each other and introductions. Our instructor took us through the point Messina Palace, which used to be the seat of the High Admiral of Malta. Today, it is the space where the Goethe Institute found its headquarters, but also a space for Erasmus projects organized by the Teachers Academy.
The first working meeting created a space for each of us to introduce ourselves, to inform us about who we are, what we do, where we work, and why we signed up for this education.
The following hours were already devoted to the introduction to the issue of artificial intelligence. The lecturer informed us about what artificial intelligence actually is, and talked about a brief history of its development. He pointed out that its history began at the time of World War 2 with the discovery of the ENIGMA machine, he talked about machine learning, but also about large language models that people have been using for the last 2-3 years. We learned about several platforms and applications already being developed for a specific purpose and for a specific group of clients/end users. He ended the presentation with more or less simple tips in the format "DO THIS, DON'T DO THIS"
I will cover individual topics in the coming weeks and share specific information on my blog, as well as experiences with AI at our school. My plan is also to create a working group of teachers, but also students - which will meet and which will create space for sharing examples of good and bad practices. Keep your fingers crossed for us. Let's start :)
