In the month of respect for the Elderly, our students decided to visit the Social Services Facility Tisovček in Tisovec. The goal of this meeting was to express love, respect, and gratitude toward the older generation.
The students prepared musical performances for the seniors. Sára Boháčiková played the transverse flute, and Jakub Huľuk enriched the program with his accordion performance. Mrs. Guzmová addressed the seniors with a message from the prophet Isaiah 46:4, where we are reminded that the Lord remains the same “even to your old age.” His faithfulness is not limited by years. He promises to carry His people just as a mother carries her child.
The reflection emphasized that a senior in the Lord can be like an old tree—no longer blossoming with leaves as before, yet with roots reaching deeper into God’s love. After a shared prayer, there were activities and discussions on the topic of God’s presence in our lives, which brought joy and even moved some participants to tears.
Students also played the well-known memory game Pexeso with the seniors and enjoyed a fun physical activity called “Roll up the paper with your feet.” The entire gathering was filled with mutual understanding and joy that bridged the gap between generations.
At the end, the seniors shared heartfelt messages and thoughts for our students, which are now displayed in the school corridors—on the notice board opposite the canteen—as a reminder that true friendship, respect, and connection can blossom between the young and the old.
